Chiropractic care for babies & kids
Pediatric chiropractic care at illumINNATE is extremely gentle: the pressure used on a newborn is about what you would use to test a ripe tomato. Dr. Kelli Turelli, ICPA-trained in pediatrics, checks how a child's spine and nervous system are developing and adapting, from the first weeks of life through the teenage years.

Why parents bring their children
Birth itself, however it happens, is a physical event for a baby. Later come falls while learning to walk, heavy school bags, sports, screens and growth spurts. Parents come to us after a difficult birth, with a baby who seems to prefer turning the head one way, with a child who has posture concerns, or simply because they want their child's nervous system checked as part of a healthy routine.
We do not treat diseases or replace your pediatrician. We assess the spine and nervous system and, where we find stress or restriction, we help the body clear it so it can develop and regulate as it should.
What a pediatric visit looks like
- A relaxed conversation with you about your child's history, birth and daily life.
- A gentle, age-appropriate examination, including an INSiGHT scan when the child is able to sit still for a moment.
- Adjustments using fingertip pressure or a soft instrument; babies are often adjusted while feeding or in your arms.
- Clear explanations of what we found and how often we recommend checking, so you always know why.

Frequently asked questions
At what age can a baby see a chiropractor?
From birth. Newborn checks are very gentle, use fingertip pressure only, and often happen while the baby is feeding or asleep in your arms.
Is it safe for babies and children?
Pediatric adjustments are adapted to the child's age and size and use a fraction of the force of an adult adjustment. Dr. Kelli is trained specifically in pediatric care through the ICPA.
Do you replace the pediatrician?
No. We work alongside your pediatrician. We assess the spine and nervous system; medical diagnoses and vaccinations remain with your doctor.
How often does a child need to come?
It depends on what we find and on your goals. After the first visit we give you a clear recommendation, and children usually need far fewer visits than adults.
Can we come as a family?
Yes, and many do. Parents and children are often seen in the same visit.
