Your First Visit to a Chiropractor in Barcelona: What Actually Happens at illumINNATE

Short answer: your first visit at illumINNATE is a complete assessment of how your nervous system is functioning, and it ends with your first adjustment. Your second visit is the Report of Findings, where you get your results and a personalized care plan. Nothing is rushed, nothing is sold, and you leave both visits knowing exactly where you stand.

If you have never been to a chiropractor, the unknown is usually the biggest barrier. So here is the whole thing, step by step.

Before you arrive

When you book online you receive a short health and wellness intake. It is quick, but it matters: it tells us what you have dealt with in the past, what you are experiencing now, and what you want to be able to do again.

Visit one: the initial assessment

1. The consultation. You sit down with Dr. Kelli or Dr. Francisco in one of the doctors’ offices, not in a corridor. We hear your health story and set goals together. We love this part; connecting with you and creating a vision for a future without restrictions is why we get up in the morning.

2. Digital posture analysis. A few photos show us how your body holds itself and where it is compensating. The further forward the head sits, the more load goes through the neck and the more energy the body wastes just staying upright.

3. The INSiGHT nervous-system scan. Three painless scans, thermal, surface EMG and heart-rate variability, measure how your nervous system is coping with stress and how adaptable it is. Nothing is emitted; the sensors only read what your body is already doing.

4. The chiropractic exam. A neuromusculoskeletal exam to find the vertebral subluxations, the areas of the spine that have lost proper movement and are interfering with the nervous system.

5. Your first adjustment. Yes, in the same visit. The adjustment is specific and gentle, and the technique is chosen for you, whether that is a drop table, an instrument or our hands.

Plan for about 45 minutes.

Visit two: the Report of Findings

This is where you get your answers. We put your posture photos, scan results and exam findings side by side and explain what they mean in plain language. Then we give you a personalized care plan: how often we recommend adjustments, for how long, and why. No sugar-coating and no gimmicky sales techniques, just the truth about where your health is at and the steps to take it to the next level.

We also explain the three phases most people go through: an intensive phase to restore stability, a wellness phase while the nervous system relearns balance, and lifetime care at a minimal frequency for those who choose chiropractic as their preventative routine.

After that

Regular adjustment visits are short and efficient, usually 10 to 15 minutes, which is why so many professionals fit them in during the workday. Every few months we repeat the scans and the posture analysis to check how your body is progressing and what support you need next. We track everything: symptoms, posture, scans, your quality-of-life questionnaire and your personal goal list. No cookie-cutter care here.

Frequently asked questions

Does the first adjustment hurt? No. Adjustments are gentle, and most people feel relaxed, some even energized, afterwards.

Do I need X-rays or a referral? No referral is needed. We do not take X-rays routinely. If imaging is clinically necessary we refer you, and if you already have recent images, bring them.

Can I bring my child or come as a family? Yes. We see babies, kids, pregnant moms and adults, often in the same visit. There is a nursery for feeding and nappy changes and a play area for the little ones.

Do you speak English? Yes. Both doctors are fully bilingual in English and Spanish.
